In a letter to Democrats on Friday, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said the Senate has a “busy agenda” when it returns next week. On the to-do list: convening the jury for DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ impeachment trial, dealing with a FISA and FAA deadline and authorizing funding for the Baltimore bridge collapse.

The former Connecticut senator and 2000 Democratic nominee for vice president died Wednesday after a fall, his family said in a statement. Lieberman left the Senate in 2013 but never left politics. Most recently, he was deeply involved in No Labels’ efforts to field a presidential ticket.

The DOJ accused New York’s former governor of “repeatedly” subjecting women to nonconsensual sexual contact and harassment, and discriminating and retaliating against the women. In a settlement between the DOJ and New York State announced Friday, Gov. Kathy Hochul has agreed to expand human resources among other reforms. Cuomo has denied wrongdoing.
