Baltimore has sued the operator and manager of the Dali container ship for destroying the Francis Scott Key Bridge and killing six people. The lawsuit, which cites owner Grace Ocean Private Limited and the ship’s manager, Synergy Marine Private Limited, said the crash was the result of “gross negligence, and recklessness, and as a result of the unseaworthiness of the Vessel.” Grace Ocean and Synergy Marine have asked for limited liability for the incident.

The Fed left rates unchanged at its meeting today, but Chair Jay Powell said “it will likely be appropriate” to ease its policies put in place to curb inflation as this year goes on. But he waved off any idea that it would happen imminently, and suggested the inflation picture is still unpredictable.

Former IRS contractor Charles Littlejohn was sentenced to five years in prison for giving tax records from many wealthy Americans to The New York Times and ProPublica. Littlejohn had previously come to a plea deal with federal prosecutors in the case.

Wayne LaPierre confirmed under oath that he used the gun rights group’s funds on chartered private jets, luxury car services, and gifts, NBC reports. LaPierre is facing a civil lawsuit brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James alleging that the NRA, a nonprofit, used its financial resources for personal use.
