Our fellows come from all across the country — from small towns, from religious colleges, from the military, from families who are far removed from the Beltway bubble.

We teach them to report accurately, fairly and in a proudly nonpartisan way. We support them with a full-time salary and benefits. We encourage them to bring their life experiences and perspectives to their work — but not their biases.

The result: Our reporters find and tell stories that others don’t, working alongside veteran reporters and editors at our “teaching hospital” newsroom, NOTUS.
