Former President Donald Trump, meanwhile, is lagging far behind. While his latest figures aren’t yet public, his campaign and party accounts had about $40 million cash on hand at the end of January.

On Wednesday, the president announced loan forgiveness for almost 153,000 borrowers enrolled in the Saving on a Valuable Education plan. Ever since the Supreme Court blocked Joe Biden’s broader student loan debt plan, which aimed to cancel $400 billion in student loan debt, the White House has canceled $138 billion of student debt for almost 3.9 million borrowers through dozens of executive orders by targeting smaller programs.

The special counsel leading an inquiry into Hunter Biden charged an FBI source for alleging giving the agency false information about the president and his son. According to the indictment, the source falsely told the FBI that Burisma officials said they paid Hunter and Joe Biden $5 million each and that they hired Hunter Biden because he would “protect us, through his dad, from all kinds of problems.”

The president accepted the endorsement with a speech at UAW’s conference Wednesday. “Some are seeing the light,” Biden said to the crowd. “Changing the economy into one that gives everybody a fair shot. That’s what my economic plan is all about.” Last year, UAW said it was putting off its presidential endorsement due to concerns over Biden’s electric vehicle manufacturing policies. But on Wednesday, UAW president Shawn Fain said Biden had “earned” the labor union’s support.

Team Biden is kicking off a campaign tour on abortion access. Harris starts off the trip in Waukesha county Monday. Tomorrow, President Joe Biden will join Harris in Virginia to highlight reproductive rights as a major issue in the 2024 election. Harris is expected to highlight Donald Trump’s role bringing about the deluge of abortion restrictions that have been enacted since the Supreme Court overturned Roe in 2022.
