Rep. Rashida Tlaib said she cast her ballot on Tuesday for “uncommitted” rather than voting for President Joe Biden in the Michigan Democratic primary — part of a broader push to send a message to Biden about the Israel-Hamas war. “I was proud today to walk in and pull a Democratic ballot and vote uncommitted,” she said in a video posted on X by the Listen to Michigan campaign.

On Wednesday, the president announced loan forgiveness for almost 153,000 borrowers enrolled in the Saving on a Valuable Education plan. The president accepted the endorsement with a speech at UAW’s conference Wednesday. “Some are seeing the light,” Biden said to the crowd. “Changing the economy into one that gives everybody a fair shot. That’s what my economic plan is all about.” Last year, UAW said it was putting off its presidential endorsement due to concerns over Biden’s electric vehicle manufacturing policies. But on Wednesday, UAW president Shawn Fain said Biden had “earned” the labor union’s support.
