Jesse previously worked for the Washington Post for nine years, five of which he spent on the Washington Nationals beat before writing college sports features. After the Nationals won the World Series in 2019, he wrote Buzz Saw, the definitive book on the championship season. His work has also appeared in Baseball Prospectus and the Los Angeles Times.
