The Trump administration is urging white males to file claims with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission if they believe they’ve faced discrimination based on race or sex.

EEOC Chair Andrea Lucas posted a video on the matter on X Wednesday, which Vice President JD Vance shared Thursday as part of a series of posts alleging diversity, equity and inclusion efforts lead to discrimination against white men.

“Are you a white male who has experienced discrimination at work based on your race or sex? You may have a claim to recover money under federal civil rights laws,” Lucas said in the post.

“The EEOC is committed to identifying, attacking, and eliminating all race and sex discrimination — including against white male employees and applicants,” Lucas added.

In a separate post, Vance said, “A lot of people think ‘DEI’ is lame diversity seminars or racial slogans at NFL games. In reality, it was a deliberate program of discrimination primarily against white men.”

The EEOC website gives an overview of what “DEI-related discrimination” can look like, stating that it can include disparate treatment, harassment or retaliation based on race or sex. Both the video and the website urge those who may have faced discrimination to contact the EEOC quickly, as there are time limits for filing a charge.

Lucas, who has served on the commission since 2020, was appointed as acting chair in January and reconfirmed in July, has said that her priorities include getting rid of “DEI-motivated race and sex discrimination.”

The Trump administration has been adamant about rolling back DEI initiatives in workplaces. In a January 2025 executive order, Trump called to terminate all DEI offices, positions and programs, including equity action plans and equity-related grants.

On Wednesday, Vance linked to an online essay by Jacob Savage that claims that millennial white men are a “lost generation.”

“This is why the Trump administration has so dedicated itself to eradicating racist discrimination,” Vance wrote. “We’ve eliminated funding for DEI, required government grantees to certify that they’re not engaged in DEI, fired a number of DEI employees, and asked the great @HarmeetKDhillon to aggressively prosecute all forms of racial discrimination.”

Vance’s posts were also reposted by Lucas.

Enrollment of white students in college has gone down, especially among men.The PEW Research Center found that gender disparity in college attendance rates is the most apparent among white high school graduates, with women being 10 percentage points more likely to be enrolled in college.

However, men earn a median of $257 more than women, and the median salary of white men is higher than white women and than Black and Hispanic people of both genders, according to a December release by the US Department of Labor. The release also notes that Asian men and women tend to earn more than their white counterparts.

A June 2025 article by Washington Technology found that “white males dominate the C-suite by a wide margin” by analyzing over 1,000 executive positions on websites and LinkedIn.
