Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem was taken to a Washington, D.C.-area hospital via ambulance Tuesday after suffering an allergic reaction, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed to NOTUS.
“Secretary Noem had an allergic reaction today. She was transported to the hospital out of an abundance of caution. She is alert and recovering,” Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.
CNN first reported that Noem was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
Reporters for the network “observed several Secret Service agents posted at several entrances outside the emergency room at the hospital where the secretary was admitted.”
This is a developing story and will be updated.
