Trump Using Iran War to Pad His Political Committee Account

A supporter who “stands with President Trump and our brave U. S. troops” should give money to Trump’s Never Surrender Inc. PAC, a new fundraising message states.

President Donald Trump blasted out a text on Wednesday “asking every SINGLE Trump supporter who stands with President Trump and our brave U. S. troops” to signal their support for the Iran war with a donation to his political action committee.

Trump’s committee states in the message, which is titled “OPERATION EPIC FURY”: “Democrats want to see us divided. They want to see us grow weak and fail. The sooner you take action, the better.”

The committee then asks recipients to sign their name to an “Official Trump Supporter List.” One must agree to make a donation to Trump’s Never Surrender Inc. PAC — suggested contributions range from $26 to $3,300 — and include their address, employer name and occupation in order to sign the list.

As of Dec. 31, Never Surrender had more than $49.8 million in cash on hand, according to Federal Election Commission reports. Trump is constitutionally ineligible to run for president again in 2028.

The Trump National Committee JFC, a different Trump committee, sent it’s own Iran-themed message Wednesday “asking everyone who approves of Operation Epic Fury to rally behind me with incredible messages of support” — and a donation.

“That’s what peace through strength looks like. Will you stand STRONG with me as I protect our country?” the Trump joint fundraising committee wrote.

Trump’s joint fundraising committee had nearly $15 million in cash on hand as of Dec. 31.

Trump has sent other political fundraising emails this week as the war raged, as have some Democrats. He also attended a $1 million per person fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago Saturday evening benefitting the pro-Trump MAGA Inc. super PAC, according to the Wall Street Journal, which reported a source said Trump told advisers he didn’t want to cancel because he had to eat dinner regardless.

The United States and Israel launched a massive bombing campaign in Iran early Saturday. The strikes killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who ruled the country with an iron fist for nearly four decades.

The conflict has rippled throughout the Middle East and sparked a surge in oil prices, with no end in sight. Six U.S. troops have so far died in the war.

Many Democrats have decried the administration for going around Congress, which has the exclusive authority to declare war, while Republicans have fallen in line behind their president — although they have drawn a red line at “boots on the ground.”

Trump campaigned in opposition to endless wars, such as the yearslong operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Appetite for another “forever war” is low. Only about one-quarter of Americans approve of “Operation Epic Fury,” according to a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll, which found 43% disapprove.

But Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Wednesday morning at a press conference that the U.S. has “only just begun to fight.”

“Metrics are shifting, settling, and more forces are arriving,” Hegseth said. “It’s very early, and as President Trump has said, we will take all the time we need to make sure that we succeed.”

Neither the White House nor Never Surrender immediately responded to requests for comment.
