We’re building Washington’s next great newsroom, and today, we’re proud to launch NOTUS’ new daily newsletter focused on all things D.C. Sign up here.

We’ve formed a team of local reporters to cover news, sports, food, and all the quirks and curiosities that make our region tick. In our newsletter, you’ll get fresh reporting and sharp analysis you can’t get anywhere else.

We hope to set the tone for your day and give you something worthy of sharing with your friends. Think of it like the front page of the daily newspaper you used to get: informative, engaging and entertaining.

We’ve already been publishing stories on the outcome of D.C.’s mayoral primary, the data center explosion in Northern Virginia, the surprising success of a young Nationals team, Alex Ovechkin’s return to the Capitals, staff turmoil and leadership turnover at Arena Stage and much more.

My colleague Zara Norman and I will be taking the lead in writing the newsletter. And we’ll be relying on Jesse Dougherty, Dave Sheinin and Martenzie Johnson for their sharp insights on local sports; Michael Brice-Saddler, Jenny Gathright and Shamira Muhammad for their in-depth reporting; and Tom Sietsema for a taste — literally — of the region’s food scene.

And this is just the beginning. You’ll soon be seeing more of NOTUS’ local team and reporting on social media, we’ll be hosting events, and our reporters will continue digging up stories that hold the powerful to account, explain how our city and region work (and sometimes don’t), and highlight the people and personalities driving conversations and drawing interest.

We’d love to hear from you! Send us an email, ping us on social media — let us know what you’re interested in, what you’d like to see us cover and what we might be missing.
