Jeff was previously the chief economics correspondent at The Washington Post, where his reporting on Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency was awarded the 2026 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service. His series on U.S. sanctions also received the 2025 Loeb Award for international reporting. He is writing a biography of Senator Bernie Sanders and previously founded the Ithaca Voice, a local nonprofit.
