Trump Media Plans to Sell Quicker Access to the President’s Truth Social Posts

It’s just the latest example of the norm-shattering president mixing business and politics.

Trump Media and Technology Group, the company behind President Donald Trump’s Truth Social platform, announced Thursday it’s launching a service that will sell faster access to posts on the site — including Trump’s regular markets-moving diatribes.

A spokesperson for Trump Media told Reuters that the application, called Truth API, will give paying users access to posts from the 10 most influential accounts at a faster pace than normal Truth Social push notifications. Trump is by far the most followed account on the platform, with 12.9 million followers.

The news release about the application suggested Wall Street firms had expressed interest in the service.

“Markets already move on Truth Social posts,” Kevin McGurn, Trump Media’s interim chief executive officer, said in the release.

Truth API is set to launch Aug. 1, Trump Media said, and several institutional customers have already signed up.

Trump Media did not immediately respond to request for comment on the application, whose posts will be made available or how much the service will cost. API services aren’t an unusual offering in the social media industry — X, Reddit, Facebook and other platforms all sell access to users’ posts in bulk just milliseconds faster than they are available for viewers online.

It would appear, however, that Trump and his two eldest sons would qualify for inclusion on the platform’s list of most influential accounts. Donald Trump Jr. has 7.4 million followers, while Eric Trump has 3.3 million.

Trump is the plurality owner of Trump Media, with about 41% of the company’s shares sitting in his revocable trust.
