Democratic Congresswoman Says She’s Prepping Articles of Impeachment Against RFK Jr.

Rep. Haley Stevens cited the health secretary’s “contempt for science, the constant spreading of conspiracy theories, and his complete disregard for the thousands of research hours spent by America’s top doctors.”

Rep. Haley Stevens says she is drafting articles of impeachment against Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. due to “health care chaos” under his leadership.

“We need leaders who put science over chaos, facts over lies, and people over politics, which is why I am announcing today that I have begun drafting articles of impeachment against Secretary Kennedy,” the Michigan Democrat said in a Thursday press release.

“His contempt for science, the constant spreading of conspiracy theories, and his complete disregard for the thousands of research hours spent by America’s top doctors and experts is unprecedented, reckless, and dangerous,” she added.

Stevens has previously called for Kennedy’s resignation, most recently when he joined President Donald Trump Monday in promoting a largely unproven link between Tylenol and autism.

Stevens, who is running for an open Senate seat in Michigan, did not give a timeline for the impeachment articles. It’s unlikely the impeachment articles will get enough support from the Republican majority to pass, making the measure a largely symbolic one.

If filed, these will be the first articles of impeachment against Kennedy since he assumed the role earlier this year.

Some Republicans started to break ranks with the health secretary after Monday’s press conference, during which he and Trump urged pregnant women to curtail their use of the popular pain medication Tylenol, while suggesting that it was contributing to the marked rise of autism diagnoses in recent years. Sen. Bill Cassidy has called on Kennedy to release any data supporting the claim, while The Hill reported some Republicans feel he has become a political liability.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune also split from Trump and Kennedy this week when he expressed concern with the lack of evidence tying Tylenol use to autism, saying on CNN “science ought to guide these discussions.”

Stevens called Kennedy’s policies dangerous in a post to X announcing her plans to draft the impeachment articles.

“Health care chaos. Reckless cuts. Rising costs. Michiganders and families across the country are paying the price for RFK Jr.’s agenda,” Stevens wrote. “Enough is enough.”
