Santos, who was running an independent bid for New York’s First Congressional District, says he’s withdrawing his campaign. “I don’t want my run to be portrayed as reprisal against Nick Lalota,” Santos posted on X of the incumbent Republican candidate in the race, saying his run “all but guarantees a victory for the Dems.” Santos hinted this is not the end of his political career though: “It’s only goodbye for now, I’ll be back.”

At least three Republican senators who previously voted against a foreign aid package in February now say they will support the bill. Sens. Lindsey Graham, Tim Scott and Markwayne Mullin all came out for the funding for Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan. In a statement, Scott called the bill “far from perfect” but an “important step” in standing with Israel.
