White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Thursday that the Trump administration would not intervene in the extradition process of the controversial “manosphere” influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate.
The Tate brothers, who were first formally indicted in Romania on charges of human trafficking and organized crime in 2023, were arrested by U.S. Marshals in Florida last week following an extradition request from the United Kingdom in connection with new criminal charges of rape and sex trafficking in the country.
Though both siblings deny any wrongdoing, at the beginning of the month the British government brought additional charges against the two, including seven more counts of rape and child pornography against Andrew, and two more counts of rape against Tristan; both face counts of sexual assault and sex trafficking.
Self-proclaimed “misogynist” Andrew Tate is a prominent voice in the manosphere — a loose-knit group of male internet personalities — and popular in some MAGA circles. Some of his supporters include Donald Trump Jr., who has publicly defended Tate, and Richard Grenell, a longtime Trump ally who serves as a special presidential envoy.

But when asked whether the president or any of his top officials would step in to assist the pair, Leavitt answered emphatically.
“No. We’ve already answered that question,” Leavitt said.
As of Thursday, Vice President JD Vance still follows both brothers on X.
The Trump administration reportedly raised concerns with Romanian officials in 2025 over the travel restrictions placed on the brothers while a separate criminal case remained ongoing. President Donald Trump denied any personal involvement in the matter.
