He is a former editor at CQ Roll Call, where he oversaw coverage of the Supreme Court and lower courts, legal issues in Congress, the Justice Department and immigration policy. He previously covered those issues as a staff writer at CQ Roll Call and Congress for The National Law Journal and Legal Times. Before coming to Washington in 2012, he covered state and federal courts for daily newspapers in Florida and Iowa.
