A New York workers’ compensation fine against President Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign committee has been rescinded, the parties confirmed to NOTUS.

The reversal comes after the Supreme Court of the State of New York for the County of New York ruled earlier this year that Donald J. Trump for President 2024 must pay a $21,000 penalty for failing to respond to Workers’ Compensation Board of the State of New York allegations that it hadn’t carried workers’ compensation insurance during late 2024 and most of 2025.

“It appears the board had incorrect information and we worked directly with them to provide the correct information,” the Trump committee said in a statement to NOTUS. “The matter is resolved and the penalties removed.”Craig Smith, a spokesperson for the workers’ compensation board, confirmed that the fine has been rescinded and the matter resolved.

A New York court document docketed on May 29 indicates the matter is “fully satisfied.”

The Trump campaign argued that the matter amounted to a misunderstanding, saying the compensation board used the wrong address for the campaign when attempting to confirm the campaign’s state workers’ compensation coverage.

New York’s workers’ compensation law requires most employers to carry a valid workers’ compensation insurance policy. Penalties for noncompliance can reach $2,000 for every 10-day period without coverage. The insurance typically covers an employee in case of an injury or workplace accident.

Following Trump’s presidential victory in 2024, the Donald J. Trump for President 2024 committee converted itself into a political action committee now known as Never Surrender Inc.
