THE LATEST

President Donald Trump signed an executive order reducing the number of recommended childhood vaccines and directing them to be administered during separate medical appointments “to the maximum extent feasible.”

• “Nothing bad can happen from what we’re doing,” the president told reporters. He also said he broke his own children’s vaccinations up over several visits.

Trump is demanding compensation from Iran for damages, after Tehran over the weekend called for the U.S. to reimburse it for months of destruction. Trump said Iran “never mentioned” the request in any previous peace talks.

• Iran should also be responsible for damages and deaths in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Gaza, Trump said.

The U.S. emergency oil reserve has fallen below 300 million barrels, the lowest level recorded since the early 1980s, following the administration’s release of 172 million barrels in an attempt to stabilize oil prices that have risen with the conflict.

THE ADMINISTRATION

The Department of Homeland Security has spent more than $2.2 billion buying four immigration detention centers over the past two months.

Food manufacturers could have new Food and Drug Administration reporting requirements for additives under a new proposed rule.

The State Department said more than 175,000 visas have been revoked under Trump.

THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL

The deadline has passed for Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio) to take his name off the ballot in the race for Ohio’s 7th Congressional District following accusations of domestic abuse, which he denies.

• The National Electrical Contractors Association says it’s dumping Miller following NOTUS’ report about corporate and trade political committees that have donated to the congressman. “NECA will no longer support his campaign and has requested the return of our contribution” of $2,500, a NECA spokesperson confirmed.

The Democrat running for Senate in Montana, Alani Bankhead, refused to drop out of the race by this afternoon’s deadline to clear the way for independent candidate Seth Bodnar, who some Democrats think has a better chance of beating Republican Kurt Alme in the R+10 race.

THE STATES

Joint Base Charleston was officially renamed Joint Base Lindsey Graham. Pete Hegseth, Scott Bessent, Gov. Henry McMaster and Sen. Darline Graham attended the ceremony.

New York, Connecticut and Vermont are the latest states to face lawsuits from the DOJ for allowing undocumented students to receive in-state tuition.
