THE LATEST

Donald Trump refused to sign a bipartisan housing bill until Congress passes the languishing SAVE America Act. The day’s defining image: Rep. French Hill (R-Arkansas) promoting Trump’s support on stage, completely unaware the president had just revoked it on Truth Social.

Republicans are fuming at Trump derailing yet another GOP priority with no warning.

  • “He’s having a fucking tantrum,” one senior Republican told NOTUS.

Trending

But Mike Johnson defended Trump’s rug-pull, and said House Republicans will put together a proposal for Reconciliation 3.0 — the president’s dream defense budget and election bill vehicle that many senators still consider a non-starter.

  • “I talked the president through that in detail this morning. He asked, ‘Can we do it?’ and I said, ‘We can, if the Republicans will stand together,’” Johnson said.
  • Johnson says he believes Trump will sign the bill within the next 10 days.

Trump found time to attend the Senate GOP luncheon this afternoon, where he blasted the Republicans who broke with him on yesterday’s war powers vote, including a shouting match with Bill Cassidy of Louisiana.

THE ADMINISTRATION

Alexis Wilkins is FBI Director Kash Patel’s girlfriend, a country singer — and a performer at Trump’s upcoming state fair.

THE HILL

The administration is expected to request about $80 billion in Iran war supplemental funding by the end of this week.

Sen. Thom Tillis regrets his deciding vote to confirm Pete Hegseth.

THE COURTS

A federal judge permanently barred the Trump administration from implementing a March 2025 executive order requiring people show proof of citizenship when they register to vote.
