Prior to NOTUS, he founded and wrote the Washington Post’s Department of Data column. In the pre-column years, he covered the economy with stories, data and charts for WaPo and the Wall Street Journal. He grew up in Idaho and started at the Idaho Press-Tribune, where he covered the town of Notus, among many other things.
