The Republican National Committee will report raising $172 million in 2025, including a $16 million haul in December, a spokesperson for the RNC told NOTUS.

The committee will start this midterm year with $95.1 million on hand. The majority of the donations were small-dollar donors, the spokesperson told NOTUS.

“The RNC closed out 2025 in a position of real strength, building a serious war chest as we head into the 2026 midterms focused on defending and expanding our Republican majorities,” RNC Chair Joe Gruters said in a statement.

The RNC raised significantly more in 2025 than it had during past election off-years. The committee raised $132 million in 2017 and $87.2 million in 2023.

This is also the largest war chest the RNC will enter a midterm year with for several cycles. In 2018, the committee entered the year with $38 million. And in 2022, the committee entered the midterm year with $56.3 million.

The fundraising numbers come just ahead of this weekend’s Federal Election Commission’s deadline for year-end 2025 fundraising for campaigns and political committees.

The RNC has been working closely with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance on building its war chest for the midterms, a source told NOTUS.

“With nearly $100 million cash on hand, we’re ensuring our candidates have the resources they need to win and to push back against the far left’s radical agenda,” Gruters said in the statement. “With President Trump and our Finance Chair Vice President JD Vance leading the charge, Republicans are well positioned to secure a full four years to deliver on the America First agenda.”

The Democratic National Committee, which has historically outraised the RNC, struggled with money last year. In December, the DNC reported having only $12.6 million on hand and nearly $16 million worth of debts.
